Can we Prevent or Improve the Treatment of Gluten Intolerance (Celiac Disease)?
Johanna Kreutz PhD candidate, UM
Celiac disease, also known as gluten intolerance, is a chronic autoimmune disease of the gut. The only current treatment option is to follow a lifelong, strict gluten-free diet, which has a big impact on patients. So scientists are concerned with two important questions: How does celiac disease arise and what factors are involved? And can we prevent its occurrence by influencing these factors? In this lecture, Johanna Kreutz tells about the developments in the field of treating celiac disease beyond the gluten-free diet.
